out in jersey calls it "perhaps the gayest place in all of New Jersey," the stretch where 4th and 5th avenue meet the boardwalk on the north end, just south of convention hall. it has never been an official designation. it is where people go because other people go, busiest from late june on. the city requires a beach pass from memorial day weekend through labor day weekend, so buy one on your way in.
