quiet lately. nothing found in the last 90 days

maine's oldest and largest community-based HIV/AIDS services organization, providing care, education, advocacy, and prevention. it bears the name of frannie peabody, a proper yankee grandmother who became an AIDS activist at 81 after losing her grandson peter to the disease. she could have grieved quietly. instead, at a time when fear and stigma made others look away, she spent the rest of her life holding the hands nobody else would hold. she sat beside gay men living and dying with AIDS, stood at bedsides and funerals, helped establish maine's first AIDS hotline and the AIDS project, and opened the state's first residence for people with HIV/AIDS. she didn't have to. she did anyway, for seventeen years, until she died at 98. a real maine badass and an absolute legend.
