beau. is built to be a place that doesn't leave you feeling worse than when you opened it. These guidelines are how we keep it that way: the first half is how we treat each other, the second is how to look after yourself. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; the Terms are the binding rules, this page is the plain-language version.
Use recent photos that actually represent you. Don't impersonate anyone, run a fake or bot profile, or misrepresent who you are. Catfishing wastes everyone's time and gets you removed.
No harassment, hate speech, threats, stalking, or cruelty toward other users or our team. Not everyone will be a match, and that's fine. beau. gives you Friendzone and Not For Me, and in the feed Hide and Mute, precisely so you can be honest without ghosting or being harsh. Use them.
"No" is a complete answer. Private ("spicy") photos are shared only when both people independently unlock. Never pressure anyone for photos. Never screenshot, save, or share someone's private photos or messages outside beau. We block screenshots across the App, using the protections iOS and Android provide, for exactly this reason, and sharing someone's private content elsewhere is a serious violation. So is any non-consensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated or manipulated intimate images of a real person (deepfakes).
Everyone on beau. is an adult. We have zero tolerance for any content involving minors. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement, the account is permanently banned, and there are no exceptions or second chances. We also prohibit prostitution, the buying or selling of sex, sex trafficking, and any illegal drugs, weapons, or activity.
Nudity and explicit content belong in private/spicy photos behind mutual unlock, never in public photos or in a public feed post. A photo you post to the feed with the flame stays behind mutual unlock and shows only in Play. Keep your public photos and profile text clean, too. Overtly sexual come-ons or solicitations don't belong up front; that's what the Play headspace and mutual unlock are for. For anything containing nudity or intimate content, the standard is strict: everyone depicted must be an adult who consented to being shown and shared, and you are responsible for confirming that. For ordinary photos, make sure you have the right to share them and that they don't violate anyone's privacy or other rights; people incidentally in the background of a bar or event shot are fine.
Spaces are public pages for venues. Anything you post there, including photos, is public and visible to others browsing that place, so keep it clean: no nudity or explicit content (that belongs in spicy photos behind mutual unlock). Only post photos you have the right to share, and never post identifiable photos of other people without their consent. Don't use a Space, a status, or a check-in to reveal where someone is or to out anyone.
Adding a venue to your Out Now status shows your name at that place, on purpose, so people can find you. Automatic check-ins are different: they only ever add to a venue's anonymous "here now" count and never show your name. Sensitive venues are limited to the Play headspace and are never named to anyone outside it.
Your posts reach the same people who can see your profile, in the headspaces they're in. Public photos in a post follow the same rule as your profile photos: clothed. Put anything spicier behind the flame, which keeps it in Play and, for photos, behind mutual unlock. Frank is fine in Play; it isn't in Friends.
Tag a place only when you're there. A venue or city tag on a post is you telling people where you are for the next few hours, on purpose, so never tag someone else's location, and never use a post, a place tag, or a repost to reveal where another person is or to out anyone. Some things post on your own behalf (a new photo, an RSVP, a trip, being out at a venue); you can delete any of them from your feed.
A heart says you loved a post, nothing more. Reposting puts someone's post in front of your people with your words on it, so repost to add to it, never to dunk on it. There are no public comments; if you have something to say to someone about a post, say it to them in a message. If a post doesn't belong on beau., report it (swipe the post). If it just isn't for you, hide it or mute the person; nobody is told.
beau. isn't for advertising, promotion, recruiting, or commercial solicitation. Never ask another user for money or financial information, and never send your own. If someone does, report them.
Don't file false reports or abuse the blocking tools, don't try to evade a block or ban, and don't scrape, automate, or use the App or its data to train AI models.
Depending on severity, we may remove content, warn you, restrict features, or permanently ban your account. Some violations (CSAM, threats of violence, trafficking) are immediate, permanent bans with referral to law enforcement. Bans are enforced at the account and device level. You can appeal an enforcement action by emailing support@beauperiod.com.
Every photo, including photos posted to the feed, is scanned before it's stored, using automated visual classification (Sightengine) and hash-matching against known CSAM databases (PhotoDNA/NCMEC); apparent CSAM is blocked, reported to NCMEC, and never kept as content on beau. Post text runs through an automated filter for contact info and prohibited terms before it publishes. We verify each new account at signup (by phone, Apple, or Google) and allow one account per person, and patterns of safety blocks or reports trigger review. When something about a profile doesn't add up, we may ask for a selfie, which a person on our team compares with the profile's photos and then deletes.
What we don't do: we do not run criminal background checks and we cannot verify any user's identity, history, or intentions beyond sign-in verification and content moderation. Your safety is ultimately in your own hands. Use these tools and trust your instincts.
